This is a technical report of Classroom Based Early Grade Reading Assessment (CB-EGRA) conducted by Education Review Office in May-April 2017 at Grades 2 and 3 of Nepali public schools. This assessment was conducted in a large number of schools (2605 schools) and students (72538 students) from 11 districts. In Nepal, EGRA assessment covers the listening comprehension, letter reading, matra reading, paragraph reading (oral reading fluency) and the reading comprehension. The main purpose of the assessment was to assess the present status of students in their reading competencies from more 2600 schools from 11 different districts.
