ASSESSMENT ORGANISATIONS

Department of Public Examinations (DPE)

DPE is committed to organizing and conducting examinations at all levels, consistent with the national policies and goals in line with emerging international trends. DPE ensures that its examinations are valid and reliable and that standards are maintained in view of international recognition. In the conduct of examinations, DPE is committed to provide a high level of confidentiality and security, vital for strengthening confidence among the users of its services and the public in general.

Quality Assurance Department (QAD)

QAD was established in February 2015 by a presidential decree as a department under the Ministry of Education. The department is mandated to set quality standards and to monitor the quality of education in the Maldives. QAD is committed to assuring educational excellence for all Maldivians.

Assessment/s:

QAD is responsible for the development and/or endorsement of the quality assurance standards for education in Maldives. The quality assurance standards protect the interests of all students of Maldives who wish to pursue education regardless of their place of study. Below is the list of standards endorsed by the QAD.

  • Child Friendly Baraabaru School Quality Standards (CFBS)
  • School Improvement,Quality Assurance and Accountability Framework (SIQAAF)
  • National Quality Standards for Preschools
  • Maldives Qualification Framework. 

VISUALISATION AND MAPPING TOOL

In the final version of the site, this section will link to a country-specific, interactive data visualization and mapping tool.

It will run offline with no installation, and allow for any country-level data to be imported using an Excel template.

Where relevant, maps at different levels (e.g. state/province, district) will be made available.

Launching soon: UIS Survey of COVID-19 Pandemic Impacts on National Education Planning Units

The UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) will soon be contacting countries to request information about the impact of the pandemic on the national statistical operations, including international reporting. The responses will allow the UIS and donor agencies to design mitigation and assistance strategies, which will be beneficial for Member States and other stakeholders.
